The South Jersey Band & Orchestra Directors Association will present scholarships to members of the Region III Orchestra and Band (one to a participant in the Orchestra and one to a participant in the Wind Ensemble or Symphonic Band) who meet the criteria and fulfill the requirements.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
This application is for seniors only.
The South Jersey Band and Orchestra Directors Association will present two $1000.00 scholarships to members of the Region III Orchestra and Band (one to a participant in the Orchestra and one to a participant in the Wind Ensemble or Symphonic Band) who meets the criteria and fulfills the requirements. All students who apply should be prepared to audition and interview for the scholarship on the Friday rehearsal of the corresponding ensemble weekend. A limited number of students will be selected to audition following a review of the applications.Students who are members of both Orchestra and Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble may apply for both scholarships and you may be asked to audition for one or both scholarships. However, the same person cannot receive more than one scholarship from SJBODA. Please be aware that all applicants should be prepared to audition for the scholarship, but not all applicants will be chosen to audition.
Scholarship Criteria:
1. You must be a senior at a Region III High School
2. You will continue the study of music after high school
3. You are a member in good standing of South Jersey Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble or Orchestra
4. You demonstrate, by audition, excellence in music
Requirements:
1. You must submit a completed application BY MIDNIGHT DEC. 31, 2023
2.** You need a letter of recommendation from a musician with whom you have studied
3. ** You must supply proof of application to continue the study of music (a letter from your guidance counselor and/or a copy of your college application)
** Submit your application online by the above deadline. Bring these supporting documents in triplicate (3 copies) to the first January rehearsal.
Students may audition on any instrument that is considered an acceptable major instrument in a college or university music program. The literature is to be chosen by the student from the standard literature that the student deems appropriate for a college entrance audition (the region audition selection fits this description). The audition literature should not exceed 10 minutes in performance time.
